Lightning Feedback: Help Us Design the Future

Each month, FINRA will provide opportunities for you to provide feedback that can help shape the future of FINRA applications – we call these Lightning Feedback. Each Lightning Feedback activity should not take more than 10 minutes of your time. Your opinions matter. All responses are anonymous, and there are no right or wrong answers.

Week of September 30th:

Self-Service Ticketing System (aka you can submit support tickets directly to FINRA)

FINRA is designing a customer support ticketing system to allow firm users to submit support tickets and obtain customized support without having to make a phone call or navigate outside of their current site. We’d like your help by providing feedback during the design phase.


FINRA is actively working on the “API Developer Center,” the central hub for all of FINRA’s APIs. We would appreciate feedback from people in your organization that have expressed interest in using the APIs – please forward this link to them so they can provide feedback before launch the site!

What We've Learned

We are getting a lot of feedback on Workspace Dashboard as your new landing page; in fact, we are still collecting responses and you can still provide your input. Here are some high-level takeaways from your responses to-date:

  • Smooth landing? – A good majority of you found the new landing page to be clean and well-organized. One respondent stated it was "Much improved over the current homepage." Others felt that we might be displaying too much information, or things that aren't pertinent to your job. Do you agree?
  • The Name Game – We asked what you might call this application if given the opportunity. It's a close race between "FINRA Gateway" and "FINRA Workspace." Do you have any other suggestions?
  • Modal pop-ups are slightly preferred – When wanting to view detailed information regarding an item, like a request, 46% of you would prefer this information to appear in a modal pop-up window that would overlay the current screen. 28% of our respondents prefer to have this information appear on the same screen, with a link to go back to the previous page. The remaining 26% expressed the need to toggle back-and-forth to see different information, and chose to have this detailed information appear in a new browser tab. We have a wide range of use cases. Which method would you prefer?
